Heading to Salim Lake after breakfast; arriving at Salim Lake in the afternoon; the Lake is located in the Tianshan Mountain; around the Lake, there are mountains, forests and grassland; the natural beauty comes to her peak in early June, when the lakeside is covered with flowers, weaving a flowery wreath for tens of kilometers; white snow mountains in the background make a grand setting.

Salim Lake/Guozigou(FruitValley)/QingshuiRiver (Clean WaterRiver)/Yining/Chabuchar/White Stone Peak of Wusun Mountain/Shaosu/Tekes

Heading to Teks County after breakfast; will pass Hocheng, Tukay Desert (the only desert in the Yili River Valley), the Huiyuan Ruins (the former capital city of Xinjiang in the Qing Dynasty, and the location of the General Yili), Yining City, the White Stone Peak of Wusun Mountain, and Corps 77; Hocheng is famous for lavender growing; orchids of every size are on the route as the Yining region is a concentrated place of orchids in Xinjiang, cultivating fresh fruits of various types; the White Stone Peak appears white as its name shows; the grassland in mountains is vast and splendid; the destination after the White Stone Peak and other high mountains is Shaosu, the home for Tianshan Mountain Horses; the fourth Home of Tianshan Mountain Horse Tourism Festival will be held in Shaosu County in June 2012, when many activities, incl. ten thousand of horses running, will be held; arriving at Tekes in the evening.

. d+ p5 q4 D2 n; I. }1 W% a7 wAfter breakfast, heading to the Tekes Eight Diagrams Town, a mysterious ancient town exposing the inner meaning of Yijing, or the Book of Changes; around the established town, there are many ancient tombs dating back in the Wusun Period, ancient rock pictures and stone figures hidden in grassland, plus pleasant weather, picturesque pastors and virgin forests, which might look rather forbidden to an outsider; arriving at Kalaju Grassland, a Black Grassland in Kazak language; the Kalaju mountain lies east to west, high and steep, covered with dense dragon spruce trees, stretching endlessly; the peak inclines southward, forming a grassland in middle of sky; the Kalajun Grassland is the most splendid among all in Yili area, a must-see place for tourists; many activities incl. an international photograph competition will be held in Kalajun for the second time this year.

Tekes/Aken Glacier/Huoshaoqiao (Fire Burning Bridge)/Balinbuluk/Swan Lake/Bayinbuluk

After breakfast, heading to Bayinbuluk, or the Spring of Wealth in Mongolian; the area is hugged by steep mountains, with attractive terrains; the Swan Lake is the only swan reserve in China; every Spring and Autumn, 2/3 of the total swans in the world will flock here to breed their young; we will have dinner in the White Swan Hotel in Bayinbuluk, where farm chicken and wild mushroom stew, yak meat and potato stew, newly caught fish, and meat from the local Black Head Sheep are good choices.

Note: if the entire Duku (Dushanzi - Kuche Expressway) is open then, the return journey will pick the route along Yuxi Molegay, Jorma, Wulansadekenurdaoban and Dushanzi, before into Urumqi.
